Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds

The Alameda County Community Development Agency Healthy Homes Department will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the release of the Healthy Homes Production Grant Program, which is authorized under Section 501 and Section 502 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1970 (12 U.S.C. 1701z-1 and 1701z-2), and funding for this program is provided by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118-42) as approved on March 9th, 2024, to undertake the following project: Minor Home Modifications and Interventions for Health Promotion Grant Program, for the purpose of addressing the presence of health disparities and chronic conditions of lead poisoned children in high-risk census tracts in Alameda County (such as priority areas of East and West Oakland) negatively impacted by environmental and home-based hazards, especially those persistently present in substandard housing. The Alameda County Community Development Agency is requesting the release of $2,000,000 of HUD Healthy Homes Production Grant funds, and will provide $200,000 of matching funds.

Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the Environmental Review Record to the Alameda County Healthy Homes Department per the instructions in the notice linked below. All comments received by comment period date in the notice will be considered by the Alameda County Healthy Homes Department prior to authorizing submission of a Request for Release of Funds and Environmental Certification to HUD.
