How do I find out when the house/structure was built?

Your county assessor's office may be able to help, or this information may be on your tax bill. If you live in Alameda County please call (510) 567-8280, and the person answering should be able to assist you with this information.

What if I do not pass the Quiz?

The purpose of the Quiz is to educate residents on how to avoid creating lead hazards by following Lead-Safe Work Practices (LSWP). Therefore, the Quiz is designed in a way which allows users to go back and correct their answers if they have incorrect ones. In addition, users can learn more about LSWP by clicking on the "show help" buttons next to each question.

What if I do not have access to a computer?

The Quiz is available on the Internet and can be accessed from any computer with Internet connection. If you do not have a computer, you can go to the local public library and use the library's computers to access the Quiz. A library card is needed to access the library's computers. If you do not already have a card, the application is free and only takes a few minutes to complete. (You must have photo ID and proof of residence address).
