Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds
(Older Adults Home Modification Program - OAHMP)
The Alameda County Healthy Homes Department will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the release of the Older Adults Home Modification Grant Program (OAHMP) funds, which is authorized under Title IV, Section 401(c) of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992, as amended (42 U.S.C. 12871 et seq.).The program funds are provided to implement low-cost, high-impact safety and functional home modifications to the homes of low-income elderly homeowners (aged 62 and older) in Alameda County to reduce fall risks and enable aging in place. The Alameda County Healthy Homes Department is requesting the release of $2,000,000 in OAHMP grant funds. This activity is classified as Categorically Excluded from the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements under HUD regulations at 24 CFR Part 58.35(a), as it involves minor rehabilitation of residential properties with no change in use or density.
Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the Environmental Review Record to the Alameda County Community Development Agency Healthy Homes Department. All comments received by comment period date in the notice will be considered by the Alameda County Community Development Agency Healthy Homes Department prior to authorizing submission of a Request for Release of Funds and Environmental Certification to HUD.
